4th of July Parade Surprise Bucket

4th of July Surprise Bucket for Neighborhood Parade

How to Make a 4th of July Surprise Bucket

Celebrate close to home this year with a 4th of July surprise bucket and neighborhood parade! The Fourth will likely look a little different this year. No big barbecues, city festivals, or crowding into the local pool. But you can still find ways to celebrate while staying safe and socially distanced! I created these 4th of July surprise buckets for my latest project for Oriental Trading’s Fun365.com. The idea is to drop them off at your neighbors’ doors and include an invite to a (socially-distanced) neighborhood parade.

The surprise bucket can include a variety of patriotic goodies to use for the parade such as mini American flags, sunglasses, necklaces, bandanas and noise makers. Include this free printable invite to give your neighbors all the details of when and where to meet for the parade. These patriotic buckets are the perfect size. I used a mini wood United States cutout to create a sign with each family’s name to stick in the basket.

It would be fun to have kids in the neighborhood decorate their bikes to ride up and down the street while the adults walked and chatted with neighbors. A fun way to bring us all together while staying 6 feet apart!
