Now that we have to hunker down for a few weeks, I thought I should round up a few of my recent and favorite indoor activities we can try or DIY with our families in a creative way.  You can take these tutorials as inspiration and make them age appropriate for your own family. The key here is to be inspired and creative! I will probably make a few more DIYs in the days to come, but for now, here is a nice little collection for you to try.

5 Indoor Activities To Try Or DIY

Click on the title links below to get to each tutorial! Happy Making!

1. DIY Flashcard Puzzles

This project is such a fun craft that you can do on your own or with your kids. You and your child(ren) can decide what your puzzle theme should be and pick out the images together. Once you have designed and printed your puzzles, your little helpers can help cut out your puzzles. Knowing that they played such an important role in making them, playing will be that much more fun. Learning through play for the win!

2. DIY Word Search

This DIY Word Search is one where you can make it so that the search words are your own family member names. You can use it as a template for other word searches like favorite TV shows, movies, books – the possibilities are endless! A perfect way to work on vocabulary and strengthen focus.

3. DIY Farm Animal Flashcards

Now these Flashcards can be used as a template for all ages. These ones I show you to make are specifically are for little ones who are learning sight words about farm animals, but you can customize them to create flashcards for any subject or grade.

4. DIY Memory Game Cards

Memory and matching games are fun activities for all ages. These games can also have great benefits such as exercising the brain, improving visual memory, and problem solving. Use your favorite images and then print and cut them out. And then play, play, play! Very simple and easy to make!

5. DIY Gratitude Journal

If you or your kids are looking for a little alone time that has nothing to do with electronics, then try updating an old notebook to a gratitude or daily journal. A great way to collect your thoughts, and jot down the precious things in our lives that we are grateful for. If you don’t feel like writing every day, try doodling or drawing!

What do you think? I’ve covered a few DIY projects and ideas for you to try here. I enjoyed making each and every one of these Indoor Activities and hope you will too. I can’t wait to hear which ones you decide to make and how they all turned out. Let me know in the comments below!
