This Diamond Knit Hat Pattern is deceptively easy! The diamond pattern is created using alternating knit and purl stitches. This hat features a ribbed brim and a slouchy shape.
This hat can be knit in an evening thanks to the super bulky yarn and large needles!

Diamond Knit Hat Pattern
Yarn: Rowan Big Wool Silk (1 skein)
(Note- Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick makes a great alternative yarn if you can’t find Rowan)
Needles: Size US 13 circular, 16 inch, Size US 13 double point knitting needles
Gauge: 2 inches = 4 sts
Pattern instructions:
Cast on 48 stitches. Join together and place a marker.
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 5 rows.
Row 6: K6, p1,* k11, p1*, across until 5 stitches remain, k5. *repeat across.
Row 7: K5, p3, *k9, p3* across until 4 stitches remain, k4. *repeat across.
Row 8: K4, p2, k1, p2, *k7, p2, k1, p2* across until 3 stitches remain, k3. *repeat across.
Row 9: K3, p2, k3, p2, *k5, p2, k3, p2* across until 2 stitches remain, k2. *repeat across.
Row 10: K2, p2, k5, p2, *k3, p2, k5, p2* across until 1 stitch remains, k1. *repeat across.
Row 11: K1, p2, k7, p2, *k1, p2, k7, p2* repeat across.
Row 12: P2, *k9, p3* until last 10 stitches k9, p1. *repeat across.
Row 13: K1, p2, k7, p2, *k1, p2, k7, p2* repeat across.
Row 14: K2, p2, k5, p2, *k3, p2, k5, p2* across until 1 stitch remains, k1. *repeat across.
Row 15: K3, p2, k3, p2, *k5, p2, k3, p2* across until 2 stitches remain, k2. *repeat across.
Row 16: K4, p2, k1, p2, *k7, p2, k1, p2* across until 3 stitches remain, k3. *repeat across.
Row 17: K5, p3, *k9, p3* across until 4 stitches remain, k4. *repeat across.

Shape crown:
(switch to double point needles when necessary)
Round 1: *K4, k2Tog* repeat across

Round 5: *K2Tog* repeat across
Break yarn and pull through remaining stitches. Pull to tighten and weave in ends. Make and attach pom pom.
