DIY SPOOKY HALLOWEEN SILHOUETTES WITH YOUR CRICUT

Add a touch of spooky to your Halloween decor using your family silhouettes! Use your Cricut machine to make these cute personal decorations.

Spooky halloween silhouettes with your Cricut

I had so much fun making these silhouettes for my Halloween decor. They are so easy, and since I had already had the silhouettes cut out as my regular decor, they only took about 5 minutes to make!

I made these silhouettes with my Cricut Explore Air 2. It was one of my first projects when I got my machine! I have a whole post about it HERE.  I just used some free photo software and my phone for the picture. But there is a quicker way now!

A shorter route to getting your silhouette uploaded is to take a photo with your phone and then change it to black and white. Upload the black and photo directly into Design Space and use the tools to remove the background. No need to use the free photo software. Of course it’s also a personal preference on how well you like using the Design Space tools to remove the background. 🙂

To update the silhouettes for Halloween, I simply searched for a witch hat for my daughter and a skull for my son. I think there are other fun things like monsters or pumpkins you could add! I’ve included the Design Space link for the ones I used below.

Spooky Silhouette Supplies:

Cricut Machine
Black Cardstock (or True Brushed Cardstock, or Vinyl)
True Brushed Gold Cardstock
White Cardstock
LightGrip Mat
Fine Tip Blade (comes with machine)

Instructions:

To make your silhouettes see the post HERE. If you already have some, then open up the Design Space link HERE. You’ll need to measure you’re silhouettes and resize accordingly.

Click on Make It and select the kind of material you are using. I love, love, love the True Brushed paper from Cricut. I used the gold for the witches hat. But feel free to regular cardstock too.

Once you have cut out your designs, simply add them to your silhouettes. Easy-peasy! I didn’t glue them because I will remove them after Halloween is over.
