A perfect Get to know you activity idea for any church event, book club, or general get together! Free invitation printables!
We have had quite a few new people who moved into our neighborhood so we figured our next Relief Society activity should be a get-to-know-you-themed one!
This get-to-know-you activity idea will have everyone engaged and exchanging fun information about each other. I’ll show you a creative and effective activity that will help you build stronger connections, whether it be in a church setting or with friends. So get ready to say goodbye to stale small talk and hello to genuine conversations as we dive into this game-changing activity.

How to use these free printables
Printing them out
If you are looking for a great printer to use – I love my HP! I wrote up a whole post why The reasons I love the printer. This post also shows how you can make sure you are getting the best prints by adjusting your settings!
IF YOU DON’T HAVE A PRINTER: You can also upload the files to staples or office max and have them print them! Sometimes the local library has a printer for public use!
Attaching the printable:
If you want to attach the printable directly onto the bag, I just created a little bow with twine and then stapled them all on the bag!
I do think that giving the bag with the invitation is preferred! It’s a little harder to set aside and lose or forget since it’s bigger!
The Activity
As instructed, everyone is supposed to grab 3 things from around the house and put inside the bag that they feel like represents them. I put a disney cup, a hot glue stick, and some cadbury minis. I would suggest putting a table outside the room for everyone to drop off their bags. Some people had bigger bags or Walmart bags and so we knew who was who’s when we saw them walk in! If the table was outside the door, we would have had no idea who had brought in what bag.
We started by grabbing plates of treats- we did milk and cookies! Once everyone had their snacks, we started!
One person would go up to the front, grab a bag at random, and open it up. They would pull out all 3 things and then we would try to guess who they belonged to! Some were easier than others. Some completely stumped us! We had some ladies who brought measuring cups because they loved baking, things they had crocheted, legos, and souvenirs because they loved traveling.
Once we correctly guessed the bag’s owner, OR they had to tell us- the person who was the owner of the bag would get up and pick a new bag and we continued until there was only one bag left!
This one was one of our easiest activities. It just involved setting up chairs and putting out treats.
One of the questions we got asked that you might want to clarify is that you will take home the items you bring! I think people have done exchanges in the past (which would be a fun spin on this activity) but we didn’t do it this time!
