gifts for cricut lovers

Y’all know I love my Cricut!! The majority of the posts I write have something to do with my Cricut.

Whether it’s making DIY personalized gifts, custom home decor, unique t-shirts, or fun DIY glitter tumblers, I mention my Cricut a lot.

If you don’t know what a Cricut actually is, you can check out my ultimate guide of Cricut ideas and resources by clicking here!

I am on my third Cricut now!  I started with the Cricut Expression, moved on to Cricut Explore Air and now I have the Cricut Maker.  Read all about which Cricut is right for you here.

All the stuff I make with it (for so much cheaper than you buy it for) makes up for the cost.

I used to find things in my house to sell to convince my hubby that I had money to buy one!  You can see all my tutorials using my Cricut machine by clicking here.

Ok, let’s get to it!  Here are my best gifts for Cricut lovers… (click on the purple text to read more about the item on Amazon).  You can also visit my Amazon storefront for all my Cricut recommendations for Cricut crafters.

1.   Cricut Mats

You can’t do anything with a Cricut, unless you have Cricut mats, so all Cricut crafters would love to receive more mats.

There are several different levels of “grip” on mats, depending on what they are being used for, but the green one is the most common.  I go through mats every few months, so Cricut users will always need more mats!

Here are all the different mats for the larger Cricut machines-Explore and Maker (Cricut Joy and Cricut Joy Xtra each use different mats, so make sure to get the mats for the corresponding machines!:

  • Green Mat – standard grip cutting mat. Most commonly used.
  • Blue Mat – lightgrip for cutting things such as vinyl and iron-on
  • Pink Mat– Pink is fabricgrip, if your gift recipient has the new Cricut Maker and cuts fabric with it.
  • Purple Mat – strong grip mat for cutting heavy materials like chipboard and wood.
  • Cricut 2×2 card mat

Or you can never go wrong with buying the variety pack! I use all of my cutting mats!

2.  Cricut Tools and Maker Blades

Tools are also very much needed and I think you can never have too many! I put my weeding tool down all the time and would spend forever looking for it if I didn’t have a second one.

The ones I think are the most important are the weeding tool and scraper.  For the most bang for your buck, I would recommend getting the basic tool set here.

Honestly one of my favorite things is my brayer!

must have cricut tools

If your Cricut user already has a Cricut Maker, then the different cutting tools, like the knife blade found here would be a great addition! Or any of the newest Cricut Maker blades and tips of the adaptive tool system are so fun to use.

With so many blades, then a Cricut tool organizer is needed. I’d recommend the Cricut organizer or a fun one from Etsy.

Cricut pens and markers are also always needed and there are so many different colors and types to choose from!

3.  Adhesive Vinyl

Another thing any Cricut user can never have enough of is adhesive vinyl.  There are so many different kinds of vinyl that I can’t list them all.

My favorite is Oracal brand.  Oracal 631 is a removable vinyl and Oracal 651 is an outdoor/permanent vinyl.  Depending on what you want to use them for, they are both needed.

Removable vinyl/631 is better for wall decor and for using as a stencil to make signs.  Permanent/651 is needed for tumblers, mugs, outside decor, basically anything that will get yet.

It is not dishwasher or microwave safe, so it will melt if a mug has a decal on it and is put in the dishwasher.

Then you can get into specialty vinyl.  There is glitter, holographic, and metallic adhesive vinyl.  All is personal preference and depends on what they are making with it.

Don’t forget the transfer paper!  Some multi-packs come with some, but if not I like this one.

4.  Iron-On Vinyl

If you or the lucky Cricut fan likes to make personalized t-shirts, totes, towels, pretty much anything on fabric, then heat transfer/iron on vinyl is always needed!

Again, there are a bunch of different brands and kinds.  My personal favorite for basic heat transfer vinyl is siser easyweed.  I find it easy to weed and press on.

Cricut calls its own brand iron-on.  You can find these in craft stores like Joann’s and Michael’s too.  Always check craft stores and online at places like ExpressionsVinyl.com for sales and for the best prices.

There is also specialty iron-on vinyl.  I like using glitter HTV, patterned iron-on and holographic sparkle.  Again, all these are personal preferences but the basic colors are always needed!

Infusible Ink is not an iron-on material because it’s better! Infusible Ink transfer sheets actually infuse into compatible blanks such as t-shirts, coasters, totes, pillowcases, aluminum sheets, and more. It is so fun to craft with!

Cricut.com carries a much bigger variety of Infusible Ink and has some great sales on it, so make sure to check it out here.

5.  Product Blanks

If you feel like your Cricut lover has everything Cricut has ever made, then maybe getting them product blanks is the perfect gift idea!  Depending on what they like to make or personalize, Amazon has a lot of great blank sets for pretty cheap.

You can check out all my favorite blanks in my Amazon storefront here!

6.  Easy Press or Heat Press

A heat press is a wonderful machine to have if you or your crafter likes to make things with heat transfer vinyl, such as t-shirts, totes, pillows, fabric signs, etc.

I used to use my iron and it worked well enough, but what a difference a heat press makes!  My vinyl doesn’t come off anymore in the wash and lasts for years!

If you’d like to read all about the Power Press heat press with a tutorial click here. There are also heat presses you can purchase that have adapters for mug and hat presses like this one. (I don’t personally have this one though, but reviews are good!)

Cricut has since come out with Easy Presses in different sizes.  I love my Cricut EasyPress and use them all the time.  The Easy Press Mini is the cutest and my favorite!

If you want to spend a good chunk of change, Cricut has a pretty cool AutoPress that does everything on it’s own!

Use my coupon code LEAPOFFAITH10 at Cricut.com to get 10% off heat presses!

7. Subscription to Free Fonts and Graphics

In order to use the Cricut software, you need digital files such as images and fonts. To save the Cricut user money, you can gift a few different monthly subscription options.

  • Cricut Access – this is within the Cricut Design Space software that you use with the machines. You can pay for a year at one time or monthly to get access to a ton of fonts and thousands of images.
  • Creative Fabrica – if the crafter likes to sell their items, then they should be using fonts and images that have a commercial use license. One of my favorite sites to get commercial use fonts is Creative Fabrica. You can purchase a monthly subscription where they have all access to everything on the site! Learn all about it here! By using this link, you will save 35% off the monthly cost.

8.  Cardstock

Cardstock is always a great gift idea! I have stacks and stacks of cardstock that I stock up on when I find them on sale.  Any kind of paper crafting, like card making, building 3D pieces, or making banners uses a lot of different cardstock.

Make sure to check your local craft stores and grab a bunch of different 12×12 packs when they are on sale. Basic colors are always needed for paper crafts, but there are super cute ones with all different patterns on them.

One of my favorite places to get cardstock is at 12×12 Cardstock Shop. Use my coupon code AMYP84 to get a discount when shopping through this link.

Or Amazon has a bunch of different kinds as Add-On items for $5.

9. Cricut Foil Transfer Kit

So I had to add this one to the list because this is one of my personal favorites. Cricut released the Cricut foil transfer kit and large foil transfer sheets this year and it is amazing!!

You can check out what it does in these tutorials: making personalized address labels, shiny printable vinyl decor, all about the Cricut foil transfer kit, and using foil on a reverse canvas.

Find it at Cricut.com here and Amazon here. Make sure to check both prices, it is actually usually cheaper at Cricut.com.

10. Cricut Mug Press

The Cricut mug press is one of the newest machines released by Cricut and it is so fun! It makes dishwasher safe sublimation mugs that are professional quality and is a perfect addition to any Cricut supplies.

You can read all about the Cricut mug press and see what it can do here.

11.  Bright Pad or Craft Light

A Cricut brightpad is used for weeding vinyl, which sometimes is very hard to do if you don’t have the right light.  I have heard from many of my Cricut using friends that the bright pad is amazing and it gets excellent reviews on Amazon.

As I said before, always check prices at different sites.  You can find the Bright pad on Amazon here and at Cricut.com here.  Joanns, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby are always worth checking out when they have sales.  (Never buy anything at any of those stores when it’s not on sale or you don’t have a coupon though!!)

A nice craft light is a necessity especially as our eyes start getting older! Cricut has a higher end craft light that I love. You can read all about it in my post here. You can find it on Amazon here or Cricut here.

12. Cricut Hat Press

The hat press is one of the latest releases from Cricut and it is an optimal gift idea for Cricut lovers. It is super easy to use and the recipient can make gifts galore for anyone, men and women!

See it in action on my post all about the hat press.

13. Craft Storage

If your gift recipient has every Cricut product known to man and way too many supplies (like many of us crafters do, lol!), then craft storage for their craft room may be a great gift.

Create Room has the ultimate craft storage furniture and I can assure you it’s on every crafter’s dream list. It’s pricey but I wanted to share it anyway! Learn all about my DreamBox 2 here.

They have a small cubby storage unit and then a huge DreamBox that will blow your mind!

Use my code LEAPOFFAITHCRAFTINGCUBBY for a discount off a cubby or LEAPOFFAITHCRAFTING for $100 off the Dreambox.

14. Glass Craft Mat

This is one of my newest additions and becoming a favorite of mine! I had never even heard of class craft mats before but they are so easy to clean. You can dump paint right on them and mix them and then wipe it up!

They are also magnetic on the bottom so you can get specific magnets to use with them to hold down cardstock while painting or stamping or vinyl to weed.

I have a special promo code for you if you are interested!

Make sure to use the code FAITH20 to get 20% off!

Check the different mats out here and add FAITH20 when checking out.

15. Expressions Vinyl – Subscription Box

I love the subscription mystery box from Expressions Vinyl! I even helped curate one! Crafters will love getting a surprise mystery box each month filled with rolls of vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, project blanks, and over 20+ SVG Files!

Learn all about the mystery boxes here!

16.  Cricut Machine

Now for the big guns!!  I know this is a list of gifts for Cricut users, but just in case you or your recipient isn’t a Cricut user yet or if they have one of the older models, then the actual machine would be the ultimate gift!!

The older machines are ok, but really can’t do what the new ones can.  Being able to design in Cricut Design Space instead of using cartridges is a game changer!  I spent so much money on cartridges when I had the Expression, but that was the only thing out then.

Nowadays, you can download tons of free fonts and almost anything off google.  There are also tons of sites with free SVG or PNG files or there are ones you can buy for commercial use on Etsy.  I have a bunch of free Cricut SVG files here!

The decision then comes down to buying a Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Maker or the new Cricut Joy

which cricut to buy

If price is not a factor, I would definitely recommend the Cricut Maker or Cricut Maker 3 since it can do everything the Cricut Explore can do plus so much more!!

It can cut tons of fabric (so perfect for sewers or quilters), wood, chipboard, cork, etc.  You can read everything about the Cricut machines on Cricut.com here or the Cricut Maker on Amazon here!

Use my coupon code LEAPOFFAITH10 to get 10% off machines and heat presses at Cricut.com!

The Cricut Joy and now the Cricut Joy Xtra are the newest machines on the market and are the smallest! It is a great companion if the recipient already has a bigger Cricut but it’s also a great machine for those that don’t have a lot of room. The Cricut Joy can cut a ton of stuff too!

Ok, there you have it.  My top 10 best gifts for Cricut users!!  Or if you have a Cricut, these are the top things I would recommend to go along with it!

If you are still at a loss, maybe getting a Cricut gift card would be easiest! While Cricut.com doesn’t offer gift cards, I’d recommend getting an Amazon gift card or a gift card to your local craft store like Michaels or Joanns.

It may seem overwhelming at first, but there are so many tutorials out there to help you.  I have a bunch on my site here but there are a ton more on Pinterest and YouTube.
